June 3, 2023 - Possibly went bad. Rayce took home to let open further.

April 1, 2023 - Easing into a mature middle age, still showing some fresh bramble and blackcurrant fruit, so still some time atpeak

Another of those bottles that disappear leaving you to wonder how did you drink it so fast

September 18, 2020 - The velvety nose features dark chocolate, juicy sweet cherry, violet, moist potting soil, green peppercorn and blood orange. A svelte full body offers broad, elegant and slightly grippy tannin balanced nicely with elevated, juicy acid. The structure is very much an iron fist inside a velvet glove. The flavor profile includes cherry, red plum, blackberry, cocoa, tobacco, cassis and currant. It offers a lot of upfront pleasure, but doesn't last particularly long. If it hasn't already, I think this will begin its downswing very soon.

August 9, 2020 - B60; G10; 4.5+8.5+4.5+8.5+8*+4*+4*=92+; 14.9% alc. Clean, dark purple color. Once it had some time to open it had nice aromatics of dark berries, cherry, some mid-palate blueberry, light leather, tobacco, coffee. Mouthfeel was very smooth & silky with a slight acidic lean. Palate is reflective of the aromas, but deeper & richer with some minerality and spice. Finish is deep & penetrating, but short. The only "length" comes from the alcohol. This is well-balanced throughout, but lacks tannic structure, which helps it to drink beautifully now, but without the deep structure & complexity. It will NOT merit long cellaring, so drink and enjoy its smoothness now and in the coming 2-3 years. Went nicely with home-grilled 30-day dry-aged steaks from Ringside.

March 8, 2020 - This was very good. Well balanced, high quality and not over-aged...maybe past its peak and never blew me away as it did two years ago. It was fresh, still had some smooth tannins and was a crowd-pleaser with enough complexity to satisfy most guests but just not memorable. Had with grilled prime ribeye and decanted for 3 hours.
