Still not developed into the majestic nose of older Latour. It is a joy to drink. Big frame and perfect balance between the sweet fruit and the well integrated acidity. Tannins are mature and not obtrusive at all.

  November 3, 2023 - Grand Jury du Vin - Republic of Georgia; 11/1/2023-11/9/2023 (Republic of Georgia then stopover in Paris and Dijon): Wine 2 - Pure generous rich red fruit, a hint of oak, dusty cab floral note, lead pencil, very young, exceptional concentration, good fruit, silky tannins. Montrose?
  
  Afterthought – This is a classic Cab driven wine with excellent concentration. One of the most concentrated and youthful wine of the tasting.

  November 21, 2022 - Still showing a good depth of color, the wine pops with nuances of black currants, aged Cuban cigars, herbs, flowers, and oceanic influences. On the palate, the wine coats your palate with powerful layers of creamy, vibrant, refined, regal fruits with a touch of salt. The seamless finish delivers a non-stop barrage of black and red fruits that build, expand, and linger. This is the type of wine that stops you in your tracks, makes you think, and return for another swirl, sniff, and sip, because you could not believe the wine was that good. Still, an adolescent, another decade in the bottle will create an even better tasting experience. Drink from 2032-2075.

  September 17, 2022 - I was very curious about this 5x 100 points Latour. A good friend brought it to a steak luncheon. We decanted 2 hours before serving. Dark ruby red with opaque center. Wine was perfumed with blackcurrants, cassis, liquorice, and traces of budding cedar and tobacco. On the palate, it was surprisingly "not" heavy. Instead, it was lively with incredible dynamic range, and a long impeccable finish. Wine texture was velvety and complex. Chateau Latour has adopted a release-only-when-ready strategy since the 2012 vintage, and thus the wine was ready and didn't feel tannic at all. The splendid results were due to the perfect harmony that the winemaker and nature were able to put together. The bottle can be enjoyed now, with more of a New World style. The bottle of course can be aged for decades to allow more of the tertiary aromas to develop, like a tradition First Growth claret.
