March 8, 2019 - The cloudiness hasn’t dissipated. Increasingly this looks, smells, and tastes like an Allagash white. But as with all of Bea’s wines, it has a captivating quality that drains the bottle quickly. Also like most Bea wines, it benefits considerably from additional air: in this case, the oxidized qualities fade somewhat and some inner sweetness comes out. We paired this with a chicken satay, which was a good but not great result; cheese would’ve been better. Bottle #568.

October 27, 2017 - I'm a big fan of everything Paola Bea but this was the first of these I've tried. It is weird, gawky, oxidative, and only for those who enjoy Musar or others of that style. The strange thing is that despite being a bit off-balance it kept drawing me back in for another sip to see just exactly what I was tasting. My guess is that at this point there is substantial bottle variation so not sure if was a representative bottle.

August 10, 2015 - My last bottle, at least for a little while. And it was pretty darn delicious. No sign of aging, bet it will go much longer.

December 20, 2014 - Private Dinner (Metairie, LA): I love serving the Arboreus for two reasons: first, because it's delicious; and second, because it shocks people. This vintage in particular is perhaps the cloudiest wine I've ever seen, and the cloudiness didn't dissipate. Less honeyed and more roasted than all of the other Arboreus vintages. In particular, compared with the 2009 vintage, this was more sweet than savory. A great accompaniment to spaghetti with asparagus and pecorino. Bottle #44. Rated 2 on a scale of -1 to 3.
