June 1, 2023 - Classic Hirsch vineyard. Deep ruby color, lots of concentration but good acidity to balance fruit, long finish. In a good drinking window

June 8, 2021 - This wine is really tasting great right now !! I agree with my tasting note of one year ago, perhaps one notch off my rating last year, could be just past peak. The cork was remarkably perfect after over a decade in the bottle. I consumed this delicious Pinot Noir over two days. Dark ruby color with little to no oxidation, clarity was medium. Aromas of pomegranate, cranberry, fresh fig, and black tea; flavors of black cherry, red fruit compote, rhubarb, glycerin, and marine soil with a medium to long finish. Popped and poured, this wine did not benefit from additional air since the fresh fruit flavors were replaced with dried fruit flavors on day two. This age worthy wine has many more years of life left. A very balanced flavorful Pinot Noir from a fabled vineyard in the Sonoma Coast Appellation. A great fruit source and a good winemaking effort from Ehren Jordon. I still have a bottle of this vintage remaining; I may open it soon to verify my rating and potential decline.

June 11, 2020 - Perfect cork after a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days, fruit more predominant on the first day. Ruby color with little to no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of olive, fresh fig, and black tea, flavors of black cherry, cola, and raspberry compote with a long finish. A very balanced flavorful Pinot Noir from a fabled vineyard in the Sonoma Coast. This age worthy wine may have more years of life left. Great job Ehren, a very good effort.

May 13, 2020 - It smells like black olive, fig, tea, black currant (cassis) and game. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle.

August 26, 2019 - Oh wow. Amazing raspberry fruit to the nose. Raspberry jam. Rounder and rich but still with drive and energy. That is fantastic if a little hot.

November 5, 2017 - Spiced, red fruit on the nose (mace, anise). The palate has slightly raisinated, darker fruits once you get past the cherry cola & the heat. It is fully mature, with a touch of fine, dusty tanin. I don't think it's getting any better. This is more plush in texture than I expect from Sonoma Coast or Hirsch. There's a delineated finish, but I think the winemaker has overpowered otherwise exceptional terroir. Enjoyable for what it is, but not my preferred style.

September 23, 2016 - Deep colors and deep aromas rise from the glass, cassis dark-fruited with only hints of lighter red fruits. On the palate, the fruit is very pure; I did not detect sous bois, nor even a trace of mushroom. Balanced by fully resolved tannins and still youthful acidity, it nonetheless feels bigger than the 13.6% on the label - not quite fruit bomb thanks to the tart, long finish.

It paired well with a grilled swordfish and roast chicken, and gave pleasure in the drinking.

    Rated 1 on a scale of -1 to 3.
