Community Tasting Notes 3

September 12, 2010 - Hey, I can actually drink this! No aggressive oak treatment or residual sugar. Hints of botrytis give it a little complexity.

October 30, 2009 - Alcohol is 13.5%. Nose: almost pinot gris-like; and on top of that Sierra Mist too: Citrusy, mostly lemon with a little oak. Color: light straw, clear.
Very sweet and creamy on the palate, with some pronounced acidity backing it up. You can taste the 13.5 alcohol. Interestingly, I've been drinking a lot of 2007 Oregon pinot noirs lately, and if you were to drink this blind (totally blind) I swear you'd confuse it for a middle-of-the-road '07 pinot: there's a certain austerity and restrained fruit.
Not a big Chard drinker, so I don't know how to score this, but it does seem a little disjointed, and the alcohol is a little too prominent for my tastes. Wouldn't be the first bottle I'd reach for a refill.
