Color: medium dark red/brown
Nose: medium intensity. Very complex -- dried fruits: berries, prunes, and raisins.
Body/flavor: medium body. Rich, complex dried fruits: berries, prunes, and raisins. Notes of spice and grilled meat
Aftertaste: lingering finish.

August 26, 2021 - Medium body. Medium sophisticated aged cherry with some pencil lead. [Not sure what "lead" means in the wine lexicon, but I used to chew on pencils in first grade.] Still drinking well. Really good example of aged (27 years) sangiovese.

May 17, 2020 - Garagiste selection. 13% ABV
Color: light - medium brown with brick highlights
Nose: complex; dried dark fruits, especially prune and raisin
Body/flavor: medium body; very complex -- dried fruit; earthy and leather; a caramel flavor I don't recall previously. Added real complexity. Very little tannin
Aftertaste; lingering
Very impressed for a 26 yo Chianti. -

May 8, 2020 - Cherry fruit has deepened into the mix with earthiness components pronounced. Strong acidity holds it together. Reminds me of why I love Chianti. Could drink this all day.
