At stage where tannins and fruit are in (nearly) perfect balance, a little bit of oak on the back of damson
Reminds me that I was super-impressed by my first cru bourgeois drunk into its twelfth year. When these are on song, they are much more than "a decent village claret" and can last 15 years or more
