September 30, 2018 - Wine Dinner featuring Paella (Margaux's Table, White Bear Lake): Not impressed with this wine. Cherry, dust and earth. Was not vibrant and fruit somewhat muted. Maybe this needs more time. I would advise hold.

July 16, 2018 - This is the 4th bottle I've had of this wine and it just keeps getting better. Classic Spring Mtn cab with fruit and structure. Drinking beautifully now, but has significant aging potential

April 26, 2018 - Absolutely love the style here- somewhat austere and a ‘throwback’ Napa cab which eschews the modern, effusive fruit style. The mountain climate shines through here providing the leaner mid palate that sits upon a strong backbone with fine but clearly present tannins. A touch of excess heat. Red fruit. Built for the long haul. If you blinded it, I would have thought Chappellett Signature given the classic style.

March 12, 2018 - Honestly, should score higher, but I opened too early and/or with insufficient decant. 94-95 in the future, but still fun to drink now, if a little bit closed and reticent.

February 19, 2018 - Deep, pretty ruby. Dark plum and blackberry on the nose. Delicious, pure black fruits with sweet cassis, potpourri, blackberries, cinnamon, spring flowers, and a touch of coffee. Really drinking well and should continue to for two more decades at least.

October 3, 2017 - Decanted for 1.5 hours before consuming with burgers and it needed about 2.5 hours to fully open up. Transparent dark crimson color with a violet/ruby hue. The nose brings fresh roses, dried herbs, candied strawberries, dark cherries, and hints of black licorice, blackcurrant, and eucalyptus. The palate is medium-full, round, silky, and concentrated, bringing blackberries, plums, blackcurrant, creme de cassis, milk chocolate, pipe tobacco, and ground coffee. The finish is still tight though the tannins are refined and potent, leading to a finish that is still slightly disjointed (though lengthy). This is still likely 2-3 years away from peak and needs the extra time to work out the rough edges, especially on the tail. I'll drink my last bottle after 2018. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 92.
