June 6, 2022 - Decanted for two hours then drank over the next 2.5 hours. Still seemed a bit closed at the 4 hour mark but opened a bit to aromas of oak, tobacco, dark fruit and earthiness. Cassis, plum and blackberry dominate the palate. Long leathery finish. Easily several more years to go for this one but rating on how it is drinking now.
December 29, 2021 - Much too early still. Needs a couple of hours in the decanter now or 3-5 more years in bottle to develop. Beautiful nose, but ultra tight on the palate. Long finish, but overpowering. HOLD.
August 5, 2021 - Rouge foncé, violacé.
Pas mal de fruits au nez, surtout confiturés.
En bouche c'est rond, corpulent, fruité et en fait un peu sucré et même lourd après quelques coupes.
Longueur moy, acidité moy, tanins moy.
Très bien mais j'aurais quasiment cru un cabernet de Californie à certains moments.
Ça demeure très bon mais je m'attendais à plus.

June 12, 2021 - Nose of plums and cassis with vanilla notes. Medium to high alcohol on nose. Dark purple in glass with slight clear rim. This is a pretty big wine for a left bank wine but has lots of juicy black and blue fruits. Finish is a little short at this post in time.
June 6, 2021 - This needs a decant for at least an hour. Expressive nose but quite tannic. Needs more time. Re-visit in 5 years.
April 3, 2021 - Very intense and attractive nose. Body can’t deliver against that promise. Still a very good wine. Ready to drink after short decant.
February 3, 2021 - Thoroughly enjoyable from first pour. Quite fresh energetic and very drinkable from first pour with no decant. Medium to full body, balanced tannins, energetic fruit. Over time it changed, darkened a little, lost some energy, but no need to decant as so good off the bat.

The decanter and glass. Not extremely complex or sophisticated but an extremely high quality merlot that drinks beautifully now.
