November 6, 2019 - Drinking very nicely. Some initial tar on the palate blows off very quickly. Very soft, still rich with fruit. While this may be coming down the backside, it is surprisingly enjoyable now given the WS "drink by" date of 2012.
November 20, 2013 - Trying to find value in 2010 Burgundy (Rays): Ray thru this in. All we knew was there was an older wine in the bunch that was the same wine as one of the other blind wines. It turned out to be right next to each other. Of course, 03 is an interesting vintage. This was the groups WOTN. Ruby/purple in color. The nose is cherries and dark cherries. A bit more layered and complex but still a lot of fruit. I thought perhaps it was a 2005. Slightly drying on the finish. Really in a nice place if not mature yet. A good statement on 03, Jadot and village wines.
March 26, 2013 - So the nose came out pretty concentrated, un-chambolle like. Not bad but not the usual Burgundy style. On taste tannins and fruit in full force. Red and black fruit concentrated not quite jammy but more fruit than usual. The tannins were there, so it seemed almost like it was just released. A slightly bitter finish but I think this may be some wood tannin still integrating.
This wine from 03 brought to me thoughts that I may want to re-consider the vintage. I am wondering whether some of these wines will be quite profound as they age another 20 years or so. The fruit is there as well as tannins. I see people dissing them as too jammy and overripe - a "Parker" vintage. To my mind they may be quite surprising as they age, although it is only speculation. I may want to take a shot and stock up on a couple of cases of some 03s.

May 19, 2010 - Obviously acidified. This wine is so innocuous that I am actually angry that I paid over 15 bucks for this (35 bucks if you care). It has nothing to distinguish it from any other red burgundy, or even an off year Rhone for that matter. Simple red wine that I will use for cooking. Time to open something better.
April 13, 2010 - Deep red center, red rim with signs of age.
Cherries and strawberries, jammy, creamy, touch of stewed beets, beginning of farmyard aromas.
Slight dirty start, chocolate, strawberries, stewed vegetables, acidity in the middle, OK length of slightly weedy fruit.
Very good. Drinking well now. Might achieve better balance in a year or two.
January 28, 2010 - Surprisingly good - well balanced with black fruits and a tart acidity. Faded a bit over the hours. I would drink now.
