December 20, 2023 - Decanted 45 minutes before service. In the glass, youthful, opaque, nearly-black purple. On the nose, currants, violets, and a secondary note of potpourri. On the palate, smooth initially, leading with more currants and plums, shifting to less fruit-forward notes and minerality, before the tannins gently settle in to deliver structure and an almost-mouth-puckering finish. For a good-vintage Bordeaux, this is probably as close to a QPR buy as you're likely to get.
December 5, 2023 - Decanted for one hour, perhaps it needs 1,5 or 2. At its peak right now, with more secondary than primary notes. Slight tertiary notes but in this kind of wines not made for the long haul it’s always challenging to find good tertiary aromas. A good PQR specially with food, not too complex and a bit short on finish but that s natural given the level of the wine. Drink up as it s hard to see improvement from here and perhaps in 2 or 3 years will start going downhill, so why take chances if you still have enough lifespan to enjoy it. In any case much better purchase than second labels of great names of pomerol or st Emilion which are at the same quality level and comparable flavor profile but cost twice - thrice as much.
November 3, 2023 - Drank over 2 days. No gas or pump down. Delish. Pound for pound delicious QPR rightbank Bordeaux. Fantastic with Autumn beef short ribs
November 7, 2022 - In my opinion many years of life ahead. Nice fat wine, but unfortunately my last bottle.
October 7, 2022 - Bottle variation? This one seemed to carry a slight medicinalness on the palate.
August 27, 2022 - Pretty decent, but clearly at the end of its life.
February 20, 2022 - This has some more life than others have suggested. Give it another 3-5 years, there's enough fruit to get you through.
February 5, 2022 - Late in its drinking window, but the window is still open.
January 24, 2022 - Holding up better than some other vintages of LVC that I've tried recently. Good fruit density up front with coarse, chunky tannins. However, the finish is notably short. Could perhaps be very mild TCA as I've had a number of corked wines from this Chateau. I'd worry about longevity here and would drink sooner rather than later.
January 21, 2022 - Decanted 30min. Great profile of dark cherries, blueberries, graphite, cedar, and leather. Tannins were solid but not dominant.
