April 9, 2010 - On the nose - wet cement gives away to subtle dark fruits, burnt toffee, and tobacco.
Solid mouthfeel, thought definitely past prime. It's still got some red fruit there, and I'd call it a medium body at best. Many of the nuances are pretty soft, yet I'm still getting a tartness... and notes more akin to a Syrah.
For a wine in this price range I'd say it's held up amazingly well. This is the fourth bottle I've tried over the last 2 months (it's spring cellar cleaning).
This time tried alone, with veggie fried rice, and an assortment of mild cheddar. Best served around 70 degrees.... needs a bit of a chill.
    If you've got'em, drink'em.

December 25, 2007 - Big nose of coffee, tobacco, burnt toast. Medium body, dry, dark fruit, coffee, oak, and butter. Best on initial pouring (opened an hour before). Complemented our prime rib dinner very nicely. Used a wine chiller (new Chrismas present) to bring to proper serving temperature. Doing this illustrated the importance of serving wine at the proper temperature. A few hour later, this wine was less attractive. Did not find to be as fruity as indicated in review of others.

March 25, 2007 - Nice wine...enjoyed at large wine tasting dinner with Lamb Chops.

October 6, 2006 - Didn't decant but should have. A bit harsh and acidic. Let it sit in the glass for a bit and that helped somewhat. A nice dark cherry flavor but the finish was ruined a bit by the harshness.

August 12, 2006 - Friends brought this nice cab to a rib bbq. Nose of fresh fruit and oak. Taste of dark cherries. Unfortunately not a long finish. Nice
