June 16, 2018 - Comparing with my 2012 note, I'll conclude that this is fading a bit, especially for someone with good but imperfect cellar conditions (mine averaging low-60's F with some seasonal fluctuation). So unless you've got steady 55F, drink up! The style works well with hard cheeses and is a pleasant sipper in small quantities. Fills in for fino sherry. Interesting.

December 15, 2017 - Well this has all the hallmarks of a Rimmerman oversell. Like Corneilesen or Dettore. If I wanted sherry I would have purchased the fortified stuff from Spain. Almost orange in color, it was highly oxidized, a style chosen by this vintner...I guess. Fino sherry nose, nuts, oxidation. Super oxidized, with sour, oxidized flavors that were bereft of any fruit. Just a waste of a decent piece of glass. I don’t care what the journalists and snobs say, this isn’t worth a sh.. Another vintner (along with Corneilessen and Dettore) I’ll never waste $ on again.

November 4, 2015 - Diesel fuel taste. Tried it at various temps over three days and could not find anything redeemable. Could have been corked.

February 2, 2015 - Straw color. Nose of musky citrus, herb, oil and rind. Playas was very sherry like without the heft. Almonds, wet ply wood, leechi and mineral. Very nice yet not for everyone.
