    June 11, 2019 - Decanted 30 minutes.

Deep ruby, throwing lots of sediment and clear to hazy visually.

Initially nice black fruit, though somewhat cooked or mulled, turned quickly to quite subdued on the nose throwing a bit of orange into the mix, weird, but eventually lots of olive.

On the palate a little flat, sediment making its mark in adding a grittiness, which while not off putting not helping it’s cause completely. The weight was a little lighter then expected. Overall for about a 10 year journey, now a good wine, may have shown better 3-5 years ago.

May 29, 2019 - A bit over the hill, hence 92. Would have been 93 at least when at peak age. Very nice syrah indeed!

November 22, 2018 - Better than a bottle just six weeks ago, possibly in comparison to other wines at the table and possibly because it was served with appropriate food (Thanksgiving turkey). Whatever the reason, it was WOTN, tasting and smelling more like something from the Rhone Valley than the Gigondas and two CdPs that were also served. Very nice, but I still think it's fast approaching time to drink up.

November 13, 2018 - One of the bottles I got back after Bill Holder of Safe Wine Storage stole the majority of my collection. I would drink this sooner rather than later as it is in the down slope IMO. Wine was soft, not much tannin left and the fruit is starting to fade away.

October 17, 2018 - Terrific nose - black and blue fruits and a ton of grilled meat. Same on the palate, along with a little pepper. In other words, it was a textbook syrah. However, it was a little flat, with negligible acidity and tannins. I suspect that it would have been a lot better a couple years ago. Cellar Tracker's "drink by" date is a little optimistic. I'd say it's time to drink up now.
