March 26, 2022 - A classic, mature GG, vertical and very dry. Fine balance and a masculin, smoky presence thorughout. Will keep, but not improve, I think, drinking a point.

January 9, 2021 - Beams with ripe peach, stewed pears and stony minerals. Ripe, full bodied palate that is mostly dry with loads of dry extract. Powerful with a chiseled personality.

    December 26, 2020 - Can I, as a Riesling-Dry-Nahe-nerd celebrate one Christmas without a bottle from my reference estate? N O P E!
So pnp this bottle Felsenberg immediately,
crushed wet flint stones on the nose, some peach fruit though,
very harmonic and balanced showing on the palate, if not this bottle like always punches you in the long finish with this loads of Riesling acid, so my conclusion at first: long life ahead!
Gun powder, flint stones, crushed wet stones, later it comes to delicious rich peach fruit, real top Riesling fruit flow here, the tension is extraordinary, like firing a bolt from a crossbow, top notch GG, S-F always delivers, great showing, recommended! ***(*-*****), around 92- 95 potential
    Update two days later:
N O T H I N G significantly has changed with the rest in this bottle, still going very strong, no petrol, full of tension still, S-F rulez the Riesling World!

June 30, 2020 - From 75cl, optically perfect cork. Basically as recorded here on 29.03.2020, but unfortunately sufficiently oxidized and prematurely aged (my two bottles were bought together and stored next to each other...) to reduce the vivid, thrilling impression I remember so clearly to a fat, golden, over-mature old-timer. Nothing wrong with that in and of itself, so far, so 86-88P. But given what I know this should have been, pretty depressing and obviously defective. Wine must be the only product where the advertising should say "buy two, get one intact bottle (if you're in luck)".

March 29, 2020 - From 75cl, exquisite, perfect cork, as if it had been bottled yesterday. Opened but not decanted one hour. This wine (as documented in CT TNs below) is bound to polarize, but I think it is outstanding. Saline/incense/sharp stone-dust scent; almost watery entry tightens up in seconds with strong acidic gain to an almost sharp mid-palate, with hints of tropical fuit (maracuja etc.) tightly reined in by a massive carapace of "mineral", and I mean chalky-stonedust-quartzlike structure on the long, crunchy, structured-grainy finish. Absolutely not the sort of wine you want to offer a Riesling neophyte, and to be perfectly honest, not the sort of wine I really want to drink a half-bottle of at one sitting, it is a powerful, intense, blunderbus. 92-94(?)P according to individual preference. Ready now, at least 5 years in hand.
