    November 25, 2023 - I was worried before opening this wine. Some reports hade come my way sayting that this wine had dies a sudden and horrible death. Fortunately, this one was still in fine fettle. Some browning visible when it is poured says there's maturation. On the nose, there are well known mature burgundy aromas of some exotic wood, wet earth and dried herbs over a fine strawberry undertow. In the mouth harmony reigns. Acidity, fruit and grip in melodious undulation. Good length. No rush to drink up, but I don't see much of an upside either. (My scoring had turned far more conservative since the previous bottle, and in keeping with the descriptions below the form I enter these words.

    September 28, 2023 - Lys, klar med vanndig kant, svak murstensfarget. Nydelig duft av mørke og røde bær - jordbær og markjordbær blir mer fremtredende etter hvert - og toner av balsamicoeddik, vanilje og et svakt søtlig krydderpreg. Slank, ren og behagelig, pent moden og mer utviklet enn for bare et år siden. Lang, slank smakskurve, elegant og nedtonet, lineær med modent, rent bærpreg og behagelig, sødmefullt krydderpreg i ettersmaken.
    Etter forrige flaske tenkte jeg at denne ville utvikle seg langsomt i ti år - nå er jeg ikke så sikker. Basert på denne flasken kan det virke som om den allerede har passert toppen, men fortsatt gir god drikkeglede.

    January 15, 2023 - The wine has everything a good Burgundy needs. A great nose with ripe fruit and spice. Palate with some ageing, earthiness but still fruity. Great finish, great wine.

    January 1, 2023 - Decant 3h, Riedel Burgundy Grand Cru glas (a bit better when compared to riedels pinot noir glas). 17C, with duck, mashed potatoe.

    Violet, strawberries, sand, dark wood, leather. Complex, aerial, elegant, long, deep.

    5h decant - 20C, with Brilliant Savarin. more berries less dark wood. Less complexity and shorter. A bit more sweet/easy going, but almost as good. Might be the temp.

    A good spot now, quality, royal, history, humility comes to mind. Special.

    October 29, 2022 - Big and brawny still. Tight and not giving in the nose or palate. Maybe a dumb phase? But not great service situation … served with Chinese dumplings and duck out of the restaurant’s clunky Bordeaux glasses

    September 16, 2022 - Dégustation horizontale de Beaune Grèves 2015 (Restaurant l'État-Major): Un nez qui pinotte aussi. Belle bouche fraîche, élégante, c'est un vin plein, bien équilibré, savoureux et épicé, avec de la profondeur. J'étais en Côte de Beaune mais à Volnay. Clairement supérieur aux 2015 pris plus tôt. 92 pts
