February 8, 2018 - Matured nicely
October 6, 2017 - Wow. Nice juicy syrah. Huge fruity nose. Plum, overripe blackberry. Long peppery finish. Last bottle from a temperature controlled cellar at a grocery store in Enumclaw Washington at a discount no less. What a score! Fantastic wine.
September 23, 2016 - On the nose, big, heavy, and plodding dark fruit. Lighter on the palate, and vastly more nimble. Nice acid. Firm tannins. Average mouthfeel and finish. I have a couple more bottles, but seems pretty peak now, will probably subside from here.
March 28, 2015 - 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (R&D's): Inky color. Coffee, currants, roasted game and florals. Black fruit and spice on the palate. Nicely balanced. Guessed domestic Syrah.
March 23, 2014 - Purchased and held for 2.5 years. Dark purple, almost explosive nose even on Day 2. Well integrated with a good blend of fruit and terroir. Medium finish and enjoyed on a cool sunny spring afternoon outside.
December 7, 2013 - Interesting syrah. Seems part traditional fruit forward syrah and part smoky like from the rocks. In a good spot now, but should last for several years.
May 18, 2013 - Very smooth with a thick, textured, palate.
April 21, 2013 - Wait a few years to drink. Will benefit from some time.
April 11, 2013 - nose - gamey, dirt, dark berry
mouth - savory yet with good fruit, at first i found it overly smoky and lacking acidity but with air grew on me. very nice cornucopia of red fruits when you pay attention. lingering umami on the finish. will leave out and retry tomorrow, my hunch is it will get better. prelim-90pts
day2 - same savory, a little dull, definitely lacking acidity. best with barbeque?
December 24, 2012 - Very rich and concentrated. A tad over the top. Lots of blueberry and black cherry flavors and new oak (too much oak?) with exceedingly high alcohol. Another alcoholic WA state Syrah - reminds me of the Owen Roe Ex Umbris on release.
