January 7, 2011 - A typical specimen of a dry Kamptal Veltliner. Bright pale green-yellow color ; initially a bit restrained on the nose, but it opened up nicely in about one hour, featuring classic varietal aromas of pepper, grapefruit, ripe apples and a touch of flint. Medium-bodied palate with an intense fruit concentration, a solid mineral texture and a well integrated acidity. Good length with some subtle smoky tones. Food-friendly wine that delivers already great drinking pleasure, but it can also be cellared for 2-3 more years.
Een typische, droge Veltliner uit het Kamptal. Lichte, heldere groengele kleur ; aanvankelijk een ietwat gesloten neus, die zich echter na ongeveer een uur mooi opende met klassieke Veltliner-aroma’s zoals pompelmoes, peper, rijpe appelen en een tikkeltje vuursteen. Middelkrachtige smaak met een degelijke fruitconcentratie, een goed geïntegreerde aciditeit en een stevige minerale textuur. Behoorlijke afdronk met een subtiele rokerige toets. Goede etensbegeleider. Nu al best op dronk, maar kan ook nog 2-3 jaren bewaard worden.
