August 16, 2016 - This wine is showing very nicely. Dried red fruit with some leather and tobacco. It's showing its age but it softening so that the high alcohol level is less noticeable. Rich velvet tannins and medium plus finish.

July 8, 2012 - Tasting room pour from a freshly opened bottle. Darker and deeper than the '07. Youthful red berry, meaty and herbal, with an undercurrent of smokey tar. A little disjointed and tightly wound presently but shows good potential. I'd be inclined to cellar this for a year or two. 88-89

June 12, 2011 - Very nice wine, but needs 30 mins to breath, at least. Strong deep flavor. Way to go Kevin!

April 28, 2011 - I liked it but was disappointed from my expectation based on the Rhone Ranger tasting in San Francisco. It is higher in alcohol content (15.4%) than I thought. Was better on the 2nd night which seems to be a pattern with all wine
