December 14, 2023 - Well that was fantastic. No tired fruit. Nice bite of alcohol at the back but leaves clean. Really nice blackberry, some leather but still light with no over patching tannins on the back end. Great qpr. Deep purple with a light bouquet. Paired with bolognese, wonderful.

January 13, 2023 - Has developed nicely since my last bottle 10 years ago, full body, loads of flavors, smooth tannins, nice bouquet, 15% abv, did not finish the last glass, drank with pizza, still drinking good but probably time to drink up, I have liked the 2007 vintage in Piedmonte since the wines came out, on to the next vintage.

February 16, 2021 - Phil's Coravin exploration (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): From Coravin. Pot pourri, savoury notes, a little leather spice, plum with a little meaty underpin. In the mouth it has medium plus intensity acidity and similar levels of tannins that travel long, pulling at the palate, flavours of dried orange peel, cherry rather than plum. Very 'correct' and very nice.

November 27, 2018 - The last of my 3 bottles, and this was the best of them all. As others have noted, this is drinking really well right now. Delicious cherry mixed with earth, great complexity at this price point. Tannins and acid provide structure but aren't overpowering at all. 92+

November 4, 2018 - Great qpr. As before with cherry, tea and earth on both the nose and palate. The structural elements are integrating, medium acid/medium-strong tannins, drinking well now but will continue to do so for quite a while.

March 24, 2018 - Robust and decadent. Enough tannins to last another 5-10 years

October 7, 2017 - In a really good spot after a little bit of air. Soft red fruits, spice, floral aromas, and mostly resolved tannins. Even better than the last bottle consumed in early 2015.

November 1, 2015 - Pretty consistent with previous bottle in terms of aromas and flavors although the alcohol seemed to show a bit more this time. Fruit came across slightly raisiny on the palate as well. Otherwise, very enjoyable.

January 25, 2015 - Red with some purple hues, medium weight. Sour cherries, flowers, pepper. Tannins are there, but not overpowering. Seems consistent with what I've read about 2007 being an earlier drinking vintage. This had plenty of structure to pair well with my filet. I just love the complexity of these wines.
