November 13, 2022 - Great example of a modern style Maremma wine. Extremely dark fruit and chocolate flavors, cinnamon, polished tannins, fine acidity, rich and deep and without any signs of age. A modern classic for Maremma Merlot. Always liked the 2007 vintage in Maremma. - 93 points

elegant and balanced, excellent complexity;
can drink now - suitable for further 2-4 years of aging.

January 21, 2018 - Melted funk into beautifully balanced red fruit dominated wine. Why can't we make Merlot like this that ages like a champ? This wine would have given Masetto a run for its money tonight! Yes, that good, but you gotta be into old wine and love melted earth and funk. DRINK!
PS_Forgot to mention, lots and lots of fruit and tannins left in this wine. Its very alive!

December 28, 2014 - Pretty much the whole package. Lot of fruit, but not too much. Well Balanced, smooth, long finish.
November 9, 2014 - Petra winery visit (Petra winery, Suvereto): 100% Merlot, dark red purple, intense dark fruity aroma & flavours, bitter chocolate, rich powerful, well balanced, complex, lingering long finish. Entering its drinking window.
May 31, 2014 - Corked. Decanted for hours. No help. Poured out all but one glass. Not sure what to make of Petra. Their cab merlot blend was awesome. Then their cab from the same year was totally lacklustre. And now this. Anyway I have one more bottles of each. Check back in a yesr or so.
May 25, 2014 - Big and bold. Well made. Rich and fruity without being over the top. Good for at least another five years.
