Community Tasting Notes 10

December 5, 2021 - Popped and poured. Still a baby showing loads of primary fruit. This wine is in the Laurent style and perhaps lacking typicity. The wine is still delicious but there is room for improvement if the wine develops to overshadow the producer style.

November 4, 2020 - Post Election ""Drink Your Mood" Tasting...No Orange Wine (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): Served double blind. Very tasty and rich, but this really barely showed signs of clos de la Roche terroir. New oak still too pronounced, which detracted from showing Grand Cru density for me. But still, very rich and tasty.

March 5, 2019 - Quite turbid and mature. The medium-strength floral note is not very focused or pure, like a mix of unknown flowers, not in an elegant way, but very pleasant. The taste is more of a mature type with fine tannin and no ambiguity.

August 13, 2016 - Drank at the Cape with the crew at Atlantic 28. Interesting: I last had this wine nearly 5 years ago and, reviewing my notes from then, it's nearly the same wine as I had then. The wine still drinks fairly young, though the fruit is a bit faded than I had noticed previously, with substantial notes of black pepper and spice. This wine is definitely a modern, non-traditional burg style that is not for everyone (including me). I liked, but didn't love this wine. The wine's best feature was it's lovely nose--very spicy, berry, and fragrant.

A nice wine, but nothing really special.
Not really my style of Burgundy?
Still young, but I’m missing some of the transparency and purity I love in great Bourgogne.
Still, give this some more time, and if it lives long enough, it might surface as a better wine, when things have mellowed out?
The nose is too woody for me, and on the palate the fruit is influenced by this.
Not up to Grand Cru level imo.
