December 26, 2020 - Subdued nose when first opened. Dark and rich on the palate. Much more open 2 days after opening, with added complexity in both aromas and flavors. Still quite youthful. Perfect balance. Rich but supple. Reminiscent of some first growth bordeaux's we have tasted. Try again in 2 -3 years. Consider decanting.

November 9, 2020 - Fantastic - still quite vibrant and young with terrific depth of fruit and layered complexity. Drinking like a wine that was much younger And managed to hold its own against excellent Napa wines that were 10+ years younger.

October 11, 2020 - Decanted and poured. Cork disintegrated, but wine does not seem to have been impacted. Color is black cherry with a yellow edge. Nose is black fruit, tobacco, pepper. Palate is a robust blend of black fruit, cherries, limestone, vanilla, and an interesting hot/spicy aspect on the mid-tongue (other reviewers noted eucalyptus, I think that's close to what I'm experiencing, perhaps mint). Full bodied, and the spicy element almost has a numbing effect, but in a pleasant way. I suspect this could age nicely for a while longer, but also feels like now may have been the time. Koalas should love this.

September 29, 2020 - Double decanted, with minimal sediment, good dark ruby coloring and no browning. Had with filet of beef and the soft sweet fruit and complex flavors and long finish topped the ‘84 Grange. Very ready to go, but will hold up for another 10 years with proper storage.
