May 13, 2019 - Color is a reasonable golden hue, but pure sherry on the nose.

April 22, 2019 - Much as below, leftover fron Seder, almost too intense for our seared halibut.

April 19, 2019 - This bottle absolutely wowed right out of the gate. The color was a bright and clear light yellow with no signs of advancement. This is a powerful wine with citrus, green apple, mango and an underlying savory almost saline note. Killer acidity. Finish sails along. Reading the notes including my own indicate there is a lot of variation but boy when this wine is good, it is VERY good. I think ALANR nailed it in his Feb 18 tasting note. My bottle was very similar. It will be fascinating to see where my final bottle lands.

UPDATE - even better on the second night with the nose adding a gunmetal component that i love. Palate is still intense with lots of mineral and sea shell notes. Probably bump it up to 95!

(Domaine Huet Vouvray Clos du Bourg Sec) Residual sugar 9 g/l, alcohol 13.5%. This is much more substantial than Le Haut Lieu, which seemed rather more pretty on the nose. Instead there is polished limestone substance here. There follows a lovely palate, forceful, and the acidity seems brighter even though the figures suggest it is very slightly lower. Lovely brightness to the fruit overall. This is a lovely wine, just brimming with potential.
