July 25, 2013 - 3 glasses on gambero rossi scale.
OK. Normally, perhaps 2.5. But there are mitigating circumstances. Namely: Amazing, artistic, bold winemaking!
13.5 % alcohol. No fruit bomb here. Just amazing craft. This winemaker has hit notes and flavors with the sangiovese grape that I have NEVER experienced before.
Blind taste it -- and you will not guess Chianti. Bursting with fruit in a way you never normally get with a Chianti -- yet smooth and velvety and rich like a Brunello.
Bravo to this wine maker. Somebody did something different here. And it is delicious. -
