May 1, 2020 - Nice wine right now with sweet red/black cherries and dried plum fruit. Nice core of spice, licorice, smoke, and leather. Acidity has tamed a but still has some nice tannins and long finish.

April 1, 2020 - Robust with a tight flavor profile of oak, tannin, alcohol, prunes. Had good hopes though. The wine looks pristine, clear and red. It looked like the fruit was there. Not ready on open though. Ran the wine through a Vinturi and two hours later ended up drinking very good. Nose of lavender, sherry, marsciano cherries, leather, very ripe warm cherries, fennel and herbs, leather, freshly cut pine tree, glue stick, a very dense nose, very ripe alpine strawberries, , red fruit jam. Drinking, goes from smooth red fruits to some alcohol heat, still tannic, hint of oak, smoky, cigar, lots of acidity left, not the type when a wine is on its last leg but a richer acidity. Finish slightly thin. If drinking was closer to the nose this would be 94-95. I know some of you guys only rate by drinking.... I don't.

January 19, 2020 - Fuligni Vertical (Ancaster, ON): Interestingly this pours just a little lighter at the core than the 2006 poured next to it, with notably less bricking. Overall a tad tighter than the relatively open 2006. The nose grudgingly waftsvery pure notes of dray hay, red cherries, red plum, and tar. The palate is lovely with elevated acid and medium tannin. Nice wine!

November 28, 2019 - Didn't take formal notes. Decanted for 2 hours but this bottle was pretty closed down through the night. Dried fruit profile without a lot of secondary flavors. My 2nd of 3 bottles drank last year was beautiful but this one was tired. In 2/2018 I gave this a 93/94, but this was high 80s.

Left some in bottle to see if air will help. Not a re-buy for me.

July 13, 2019 - The Fuligni '07 is one of the best of the vintage, as far as I am concerned. Excellent fruit, rich nose, nice earth and leather. This is a extremely well rounded Brunello.
