May 15, 2020 - Improved considerably after decanting 1-2 hours. Acidity is soft as some have commented. Beautiful fruit, cedar, leather, and earth notes. Beautifully integrated. Lovely!

May 3, 2020 - Dark crimson color still. Has a solid nose of cassis and cedar. Cassis on the palate, quite soft with some leather notes along with cedar. On the soft side, acidity mostly integrated. Just a hint of oak tannin on the finish. Seems fully mature to me. Will evolve but doubt it’ll improve. I don’t suspect this will go off a cliff either, but I probably would have preferred it to have more acidity. Plenty of fruit though and no suspicion of drying out.

May 2, 2020 - W burger (saturday night). My last note is correct;this is petering out. It opens nice, color is nice and dark butin hindsight a little dull. This is nice but not powerful, fresh and fun as you would expect from $100+ bottle. Too bad as i had the 2000 a month before and thatwas underwhelming as well. I’ll keep trying.

December 25, 2019 - Sometimes a wine is better with the company you keep. How many more Christmas wines will I have with my 90 year old father? Decanted an hour before it became better as dinner progressed through the night. Dark fruits and silky tannins with a lingering palate and slight bricking, cedar on the nose...great. The entire family enjoyed it. A new member to our family commented “Wow never had a wine like this it’s incredible..” Who could ask for more?

December 22, 2019 - Decanted. Initial musty nose dissipated over time. Best 3 to 6 hours. Became very smooth. Great!
