December 28, 2021 - A full throttle wine, but great when paired with a nice venison fillet. More than sheer muscle, a streak of minerality runnibg through, combined with dark fruits
July 9, 2019 - Volcanic, ashes, mineral, dark fruit, this is a "pitch black wine" that has a lot of depth and has thus more to offer than sheer muscle alone. Nice one.
February 6, 2019 - In a modern international style, not something I usually go for, but this is very smooth and balanced, with a good finish. Works very well with a few-hour decant.
October 19, 2018 - Very rich, sweet black cherry, tobacco, tar. Should have decanted, both for development and for sediment... No hurry to drink.
February 12, 2016 - ripe fruit up front, cassis, plum, prune, some raisin. Excellent balance, very smooth, warming. -lengthy finish, very enjoyable!
November 30, 2015 - Decanted at Vetri. Spice mineral and alcohol on the nose. On the palate intense blackberries, oak loam peat tannin and acid. Fantastic complexity. Smooth. Lingering finish.
March 17, 2014 - Nice, relatively open version of serpico. Crushed red fruits, licorice, touch of menthol.
October 12, 2013 - Really awesome and in perfect balance. Great great red wine. A whole lot better than a year ago. Back then it was good but the tannins were harsh but now they were perfectly integrated.
October 9, 2012 - Dark, inky red color. Intriguing nose with blackcurrants, tobacco, leather and spices. Lively acidity and strong tannins at the back. A bomb. Let it decant for an hour or 2 and the wine will be even more enjoyable.
April 16, 2012 - tasted @ Vinorama Classic Event: great wine with lots of power, dark fruit, earthy flavors, great structure and masses of silky tannins, black tea flavors on the finish. Great potential. - 92+ points
