February 4, 2023 - At 15+ years of age, this is probably drinking as well as it ever will. Red and black fruit on the nose and palate, with decent acidity. On a cold Saturday afternoon, this is just fine for sitting inside and forgetting about the chilly temperatures 🍷

April 1, 2022 - Decanted for 30 minutes, but better after about an hour. A very nice 15-year-old Brunello that surprised us a bit. The color was a clear medium purple to a faded rim. The nose presented lots of red fruits and earth, with a touch of cigarette ash. The medium bodied palate showed the same red fruits, a bit more earth than on the nose, some spice, a touch of that cigarette ash, and a touch of tannin (which was resolving during the decanting). Probably past peak but still very enjoyable now. Drink up.

December 31, 2021 - I tasted this wine back in 2014. It tasted very closed back then and took a long amount of decanting to open up, then it tasted great. Having it tonight for NYE and it’s Lip.Smacking.GOOD!!!! Still very tannic with a total garnet color at this time. Great aromas of plum, dark chocolate, some spicy and earthy notes. I get aromas of a nice Cuban cigar when I twirl it in my glass. Oh.The.Flavors! Still fruity and creamy with prominent notes of dark chocolate. This wine can definitely last a couple more years. This bottle won’t make it through the night though :-) Very good selection to start 2022.

December 30, 2021 - This might be the best showing I've had yet for this wine. I just had a glass of the 2006 Salicutti Piaggone - I normally would expect that wine to outperform this one, but tonight I'm not so sure. This is seamless on the palate, with good persistence through the finish. Maybe a little straightforward on the nose, but other than that, drinking well tonight.

March 7, 2021 - Good Brunello - color was a little pale given the age but still good. Perhaps would have had it a couple of years sooner.

January 1, 2021 - Not really my style of Brunello but I can’t deny that it’s delicious. The French oak really influences the nose and fills in the mid palate. Everyone enjoys this one and I think that’s what they are going for with this bottle. Paired with braised beef short ribs, it really worked well.

December 19, 2020 - Consistent with my note from 4 months ago, this is an enjoyable wine. Mostly red fruits on the nose - this is a Brunello for folks who like California Cabernet. Decent acidity - while Pacenti isn’t one of my go-to Brunello producers, for an entry level wine, this is quite nice, albeit in a modernist vein.

August 6, 2020 - Interesting nose - I'm not sure I would call this a Brunello blind off this nose, but I like it all the same - some cool-toned black & red fruit.

Nicely expansive on the palate; Pacenti's wines normally strike me as modernist, and this wine is no exception. Drinkable now and over the next 5-10 years.

April 29, 2019 - Quite excellent now. Still fresh with good fruit but the tannins are now mellow and silky. Great time to drink this wine. Much better than when I previously tasted it!
