December 29, 2023 - Opened and served. Very dark with slight bricking. Full bodied, big wine. This bottle showing more maturity, smooth and inky and more blue fruit dominated. A little less sweetness, more purple velvet. A little graphite, and a touch of anise on the nose as well. Coming off a cold so this note might be slightly affected.

October 24, 2023 - Opened and poured from recent auction purchase. Wow, such a nice wine and QPR....love the '97s. A little barn funk on the nose. A little bricking to dark red/purple. Purple and chewy palate - this is lively and dense and tons of plum, blacks, with some cedar/licorice starting to show right upon open. Day two under vac-u-vin, the barn element is gone, and this is much darker and fuller - black, briar, tea leaf, very well integrated tannins. The sweetness is mostly resolved, leaving a full bodies dark profile that's quite enjoyable.

December 16, 2022 - Amazingly balanced red fruit. Pleasant earthy age to it. No tannins left. Faded after a couple hours though.

May 6, 2020 - Decanted and let open up for 30 minutes. A little last it’s prime. Color is still vibrant. Nice old barrel taste.
