November 27, 2021 - Translucent red color, a bit on the lighter side and possibly a bit watery at the rim.
Typical PN/beetroot smell with a slightly sharp ending.
On the palate quite soft and broad with quite a bit acidity at the end which keeps the wine lively.
Nevertheless, after an hour in the glass, it seemed to become watery and monochromatic. Maybe not a good bottle or the wine was past its prime...

November 28, 2019 - this wine was in great shape tonight; smell and taste of cherries, red fruit. Medium weight and perfect balance. Long finish. Great tension.
My favorite of the 3 Dukes wines drunk tonight

November 22, 2019 - Medium dense ruby color, on the nose there is a smoky element, some cherries everything quite round and nicely woven together.
On the palate the wine has medium weight, again all the elements nicely integrated. It is soft but has enough acidity to prevent the wine from being flabby. In fact it is rather elegant, reminiscent of a Volnay first growth.
Good and long finish. The wine asks for the next sip to be taken...

April 14, 2018 - Medium Burgundy color, starting to pale a bit at the edge.
On the nose typical Oregon Pinot Noir: vinous and fresh, tart cherries, nice fragrance with underlying earthiness..
On the palate light to medium weight, balanced but without great depth or complexity.
At first I detected a whiff of maraschino cherry but as the wines warmed up and had contact with the air, this aspect vanished.
To sum up: the wine has kept well but the added age has not brought greater complexity or refinement.

October 25, 2016 - Very light and clear in color, almost disturbingly so as the last Alyssa I had was 2006 and was underwhelmed. Despite the color, this one did not disappoint. Solid earthiness and some bright fruits on the nose. Immediately the palate throws raspberries and sweet cherries at you with beautiful acid and somewhat jarring tartness. Finishes bright and tart...a bit like a Jolly Rancher without jammy sweetness. Not quite as thoughtful of a wine as one would hope but very pleasing regardless. Got a couple more, not sure there's room for much development.
