May 30, 2021 - Elegance and true to its crus' soul. Timid at the opening, no decanting, just giving it time in the glass to evolve and pen up.

Nose: mature red and black fruits, with liqorice and earthy always present in the shadow. Not intruding but defining a very precise and balanced nose full of nuances. Not powerful, just "right".

Mouth: velvet on an iron fist. Present acidity, round tannins perfectly integrated. Quite full and very long.

Perfect moment to open it. It can evolve but I like it exactly as it is now.

June 16, 2020 - Primary and sticky sweet. No choice but to sit another 5 years and pray this evolves.

May 10, 2020 - Big attack and structure stays very firm - this is quite an old fashioned style of austere Barbaresco. Was expecting a more generous layer of fruit and was also expecting it to be more generous of style, given the vintage. Bramble, forest floor, black pepper, ultra dry, harsh finish.

May 2, 2020 - 14.5%. Decanted 2.5 hours. Light ruby, slight bricking; nose has high intensity aromatics with rose petal, red fruit, red and black cherry, earth, nutmeg; palate is light bodied, high tannins still quite youthful, alcohol is balanced (14.5%), medium-plus acidity, still a good concentration of youthful red cherry; finish is medium length. The aromatics are the strength here. This wine is classically made, screams of Nebbiolo, and seems still very youthful in its development. 91
10 hours air: This has been improving over this time, now with better integrated tannins while still retaining its initial charm. Also some soy and balsamic now, lovely. Still no heat of the vintage. This will easily age and improve for 10 years. 91+

January 16, 2020 - This wine has good maturity and is in a nice spot. Lots of all spice, nutmeg, anise spice with some sweet fruit having an elegant dried prune note. Very enjoyable Barbaresco.
