March 24, 2019 - Drinking well but benefits from a few hours in a decanter. In line with my previous notes on the wine.

November 21, 2018 - Dark brick red. Opened and tasted over several hours with and without food [ravioli]. Rich hot rock, menthol, and pipe tobacco on the nose. Cigar, graphite, drying tannin, dried cherry, with tannins that intensified over time.

September 6, 2018 - An unfortunate volunteer magnum that broke in the cellar tonight made the drinking choice easy. Not the ideal timing or prep for the bottle. Crack and pour if you will.

Ripe on the nose, and for me a little too ripe. The fruit is bordering on plum with tar, iron, and some subtle florals, but mostly plump fruit. Broad stroked texture but it still has some freshness to it, albeit less than I would prefer. Medium full bodied with power and some elegance. Admittedly, this was not an ideal time to drink this, nor the ideal bottle preparation. I hope this comes together and gains focus. For now, a bit foursquare and coarse. Judgement reserved.

    July 26, 2018 - Forbløffende åpen nebbiolo-frukt, i fin balanse allerede.

July 2, 2018 - Medium ruby (i.e., deeply tinted for Nebbiolo). About the most exuberantly fruity nose I have ever experienced in a 10+ year old Piemontese wine with deep reserves of ripe black cherry. Amazingly, not too alcoholic or heavy--the great fruit is joined by floral aromas, herbs, fine acidity for the year, and light soil. This has the material to improve and gain complexity for many years, but what a joyous mouthful tonight. Not the paradigm of subtlety, but I'll take it!
