October 16, 2019 - This was opened and decanter at least 90 minutes before starting to drink over a meal with friends. I didn't take any notes, but I was struck at first by the lack of any aroma on pulling the cork. It's color was fairly deep red, and in the bottle there was no sediment to speak of. After breathing, some cherry and floral notes became apparent with tar in the background. The body was medium-full with decent acidity, red fruits and sturdy tannins to balance off the 14% or 14.5% alcohol. It continued to unwind in the decanter over the next hour, but I'll never know the end of the story because by then it was gone. What I do know is that anyone with stock remaining need not hurry to drink up. It should get better and better over the next couple of years.

August 18, 2019 - See previous note. This particular bottle was quite dry and harsh. Beautiful nose, but the palate lacks the fruit to balance out the massive structure. Might be that this wine is generally getting close to retirement (in which case my early 2016 recommendation was a clear miss…), but given the bottle variation I’ve experienced with all these 07 crus, it might just as well be a one-off.

August 11, 2019 - Tasted blind and really we did not get anything close to the wine that was. And this is a wine we have tried 3 times over the last 3 yrs and rated 92-93. Dark muted fruit, herby, sharp. Frankly we will put it down to a bad bottle and not rate.
