Community Tasting Notes 8

November 27, 2020 - Annual Friendsgiving Gathering (TLV's): Quickly double decanted off its sediment and poured a couple of hours later. Faded crimson color. Notes of iron and black pinot fruit along with something a bit woody. Cherry, iron and herb on the palate. Adds a chocolate-covered cherry note with air.

November 27, 2020 - This Grand Cru Burgundy was opened by Allred. I've only had 1 other wine from this producer. 1998 was a mediocre vintage. The vines average 30 years old. Medium red color. Smooth, soft and elegant. Silky tannins. Notes of plums, blue fruit and cherries. Drinking quite well at 20+ years old but wouldn't hold it much longer. 93 points.

January 21, 2017 - Popped and poured, initially a bit tight. Notes of lilac, iron and cherry. Cherry and currants on the palate, a bit on the lean side.

July 26, 2015 - Sadly, the wine was not fully opened yet after few hours of breathing. It was gradually developing from meaty, minty with tea leaves, to starting to express some red fruits and floral notes.

Believe it should have more potential but it was bottom up in the lunch gathering too quickly ..

October 28, 2014 - Popped & poured during dinner with R&D. Needed a good half an hour in the glass to really come around. Notes of cherry, earth and iron, developing a gamey/meaty note with air. Medium-bodied and balanced, with flavors of currants, roasted game, earth and pine forest.
