September 30, 2022 - Side by side Griotte. I brought the 96 Dugat and a friend brought the 96 Fourrier with neither of us knowing what the other was going to bring. Amazingly, they were nearly identical with both showing delicious red fruit (cherries, raspberry and currant) with a touch of sous bois and a brightness of flavor that was very appealing. Wouldn't call these blockbusters but really classic, red fruited burgundies that would please almost anyone.

January 27, 2022 - M&PD Dinner at Vendemmia. This wine is already excellent, but unbelievably it needs more time imo. Drank with a 1993 Meo-Camuzet Richebourg and 1997 Roumier Bonnes Mares. Compared to the Roumier this wine came off as a bit shrill - a lot of acid making the wine taste clean but also a bit sharp. Would love to see that calm down just a bit. 100-point potential, but probably in 5 years. The acid + red fruit drives a vertical of cherries, mineral and spice. There are early signs of blood and earth which I believe will increase when this wine hits its apex.

January 27, 2022 - M&PD Tasting: France (Seattle, WA, USA): This is a bucket of macerated cherries. Deep, PURE, bloody, mineral. This was a truly piercing wine, still very much on the fruit with amazing acid, a laser, not really developed yet but so clean and direct. I found this exceptionally appealing.

February 21, 2020 - Slow oxed for 2 hours before serving. The typical Dugat nose of wild berries, feral, earth and minerals. Palate showed stemmy red and dark fruit with wonderful balance. While I expected more power from his Griotte, it was actually light on its feet. It was tremendouly complex throughout the evening. Based on this bottle, I preferred the more grippy 95 Griotte I had not too long ago. This 96 Griotte is drinking in the zone. 94-95

May 2, 2014 - Dark ruby. Explosive aromas of black cherry, plum, thyme and earth. The balance on the palate was extraordinary--that rare example of a wine that taste supremely powerful and delicate at the same time. The kaleidoscope of flavors expanded to include some raspberry and later, mint and sous bois. Barely perceptible tannic backbone and endless finish. While this will doubtless continue to develop in bottle, the balance was perfect for us tonight. A near perfect red Burgundy.
