  • fitchbuck Does not like this wine:

December 29, 2016 - Several years past expiration, unfortunately. Its 16%+ monster alcohol content means it's devolved into something that drinks between a port & whiskey [except with little enjoyment]. Oh, and the nail-polish-remover smell stymied the wife's participation after getting a whiff. Luckily I got this on firesale auction for under $7, as its a drain filler.

February 20, 2015 - If you are looking for a classic California syrah, this is not it - you would probably call this bottling borderline pruney. If you like amarone (like I do), this could be right up your alley. The 2000 and 2002 are similar.

April 16, 2011 - Consistent with my last bottle - big, defined, rich, dense. Alcohol blew off in the decanter after an hour, and the wine just expanded. I hate those plastic corks, but this wine totally survived its cork. I have no more but wish I did.

February 6, 2011 - Big, rich and dense - still has lots of life in it.
