July 25, 2011 - must have had a flawed bottle - tasted like questionable homemade wine. overripe, turpentine and other chemical aromas were very pronounced, followed by a strange, disjointed, pruny sensation on the tongue. undrinkable.

June 26, 2011 - Still drinkable. Overall impression - cherry bomb. Big explosion of cherry immediately on the palate. Not my kind of wine.

November 25, 2010 - Assumed this would be well past its peak but was pleasantly surprised that it has held up. Plum on the nose. Dark jam flavor with a syrupy finish. Not my favorite but enjoyable nonetheless.

October 5, 2005 - What happened to this? A bottle consumed a year and a half ago was pretty good and at least contained fruit and structure. This one was dilute, void of fruit, and a total mess.

September 3, 2005 - This is an unremarkable wine that is just simply drinkable. Super dark, almost too dark when the wine hits the glass. Has a funky nose to begin with but begins to open up somewhat with air. Some hints of berries and fruits, but overall a very backward wine. Not awful but certainly not worth the $35 price tag I paid for it.

July 22, 2005 - Wines from Friday: This was a pretty wierd one. Inky black like many of the B&H wines. Not really giving up a lot aromatically except for this yeasty like aroma with an underlying dark berry presence. Pretty firm tannins that rendered this wine rather unforgiving despite an hour in the decanter. Unfortunately this one never really came alive to show it's stuff. I'm not sure I really understood this wine.

March 4, 2004 - ($42) 15% alcohol. If this wine weren't bottled with a plastic cork, I might have said it smelled a little corky. The nose shows cork aspect, along with old wood barrels, and a sense of excess alcohol and some black cherries. The palate shows much better with moderately creamy black cherry fruit. Weighty, if not complex. Somewhat disjointed. Not very inspiring.
