• Vinomane Does not like this wine:

November 24, 2014 - Minerals, overripe elderberry/blackcurrant, fresh horse poop . . . open 15 minutes, I could never guess what it might be. Some obscure Sardinian thing? Not rated, because it doesn't resemble anything in particular. Oh, and it's now flattening, getting worse in a hurry. Let's just call it a general misfire and go open something else.

January 18, 2013 - Hitting its stride. Cola nut and bowl of cherries. Masculine pinot. Definition of great structure. No weak spots. Berry jam on the nose. Mighty good RRV. Blindfolded hard to discern from OR.

December 13, 2012 - Pleasant medium plum color with fruit and oak nose. Stuctured fruit with oak hints. It needs time to open up, at least an hour.

September 26, 2012 - Ouch. This bottle was more disjointed and more oaky than the first one. There is fruit in there somewhere but it can be difficult to find and enjoy. after an hour, the bottle pulled itself together somewhat and so I've rated it only two points less than the first bottle. I was pretty harsh in June and the wine is not that bad.

June 9, 2012 - This bottle did not show well. The flavors were flat, not much fruit and somehow even the oakiness was gone or it just overpowered everything else. I won't buy this wine again.

May 10, 2012 - Nice bottle of pinot, sour cherries dominate here. I didn't find that it stood out from the crowd.

March 10, 2012 - Very nice for $20. Classic pinot aromas, a bit short on the finish.

January 11, 2012 - (perspective:cab boy) pop & pour while cooking, light nose full of fruit, cherry, hint of blueberry ...medium body..palate slow to develop, into 30-45 min ..nice bright cherry, light bottom end (tannins) but still very present 1.5 hr in, fruit flattens out for a while, ...still very pleasant...nose comes back to haunt you (wish you had more still in the bottle) of darker cherry, well balanced now, and it's time to call it quits....damn....why don't they have 1L bottles of wine. Went ok with swordfish steaks, but a nice sav blanc of bdx would have taken it over the top....this Knuttel guy is doing a good job..excellent QPR @ $20..thank you William
