March 31, 2024 - This wine is the most expressive of St. Estephe terroir I’ve ever experienced. Was even better the following day. Will improve with more age. Also, cassis, Cabernet spice and exotic oak. Not particularly rich and jammy; but classic Bordeaux black fruits. A few lingering tannins; yet not excessive. To fully enjoy; I’d give it a 6 to 8 hr decant. Better yet, overnight

November 30, 2023 - Freshness level one the nose and palate is just sublime & aromatic intensity off the charts. While the wine is powerful, it is not (too) dense & all about elegance. Some upside

November 21, 2023 - Expressive, lovely nose with blackcurrant, cedar, vanilla, fine spices, leather and tobacco. Medium to full bodied and structured on the palate. Great intensity with waves of flavour. Finishes very long. Needs more time to flourish but so much promise.

November 3, 2023 - Grand Jury du Vin - Republic of Georgia; 11/1/2023-11/9/2023 (Republic of Georgia then stopover in Paris and Dijon): Wine 1 - Red fruit, bell pepper, silky, bright acidity, fine tannins and medium finish. One of the less concentrated wine and a bit straightforward.

Afterthought: This is a typical Calon Segur, i.e. classic but a bit straightforward.

December 28, 2022 - Had this at a Bordeaux tasting, just a quick note to record my impression of the quality. Clearly too young but I believe this will be a knock-out wine in another 10 years.

December 9, 2022 - Really good still needs a good decant though. Tannins pretty grippy early on.

November 1, 2022 - Lovely nose with blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, leather, tobacco, prune, forest floor, mint.

Lovely pronounced palate with some spice coming through.

July 3, 2022 - Clear deep garnet color. Clean pronounced nose of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant, black plum), dried fruits (black prune), oak (vanilla, coffee, charred wood) and tertiary notes (earth, tobacco), developing. Dry, medium acidity, medium tannins, high alcohol, full body, pronounced flavors as above follow through, long finish. Outstanding. Can drink now, potential for some ageing. P/S: Overpowering oak.
