July 1, 2023 - Popped n' poured last nite in Copake w/homemade pizza wings. I admittedly did not know this wine previously or I'd have treated it differently. Nose of leather, tobacco and spice. Medium body, soft tannins mostly resolved. Red and black fruit in good standing. Smoothly elegant pour with excellent concentration. There's plenty of fruit, but also notes of tobacco, leather and spice, and perhaps some mocha. Lovely wine that I drank mostly alone. Probably still has a decent drinking window ahead, but I see no reason to wait as it's delicious right now.
