April 24, 2024 - My first of this maker and it needed every bit of 2-3 hours of air to shine. it's such a good blend of Cab Franc and Cab Sauv.....Cab rocked it early on but the Cab Franc won out over time. Balance is the key with this maker. Clean, quality winemaking on display. Never disappointed with them.
January 13, 2024 - Nose: vanilla, dark berries, light oak
Taste: charcoal, raisins, oak extremely smooth with a long finish.
I lie this one. It gets better the more air it gets.
December 21, 2020 - Ready to go with a 2 hour decant. Lots of blue fruits on day 1, which seemed to intensify and add a bit of a cherry liqueur note on Day 2. Paired great with a big fatty ribeye roast. Don't hesitate to drink now.
November 1, 2020 - This is a plush wine with touches of green pepper tones underneath the blue fruit. The blend is so well crafted that it allows only the best attributes of the Cab Franc to grin through. I like the plush feel and the coziness of the wine, coupled with the dryness in both sugar, and the tug and pull of the sandy fine tannins. Definitely a cold weather wine! As for the drinking window, I like this where it is at now and would say that this should be drank sooner rather than later. Sexy and exotic long finish with good energy. A wee bit expensive but very nice. Drink

September 7, 2019 - Not quite as complex as previous tastings. Not sure if bottle is off (not from my cellar) or in a dumb phase. Still quite nice.
August 11, 2019 - Nose: cherries, oak, caramel. Pretty darn good nose. This is a candidate for nose/smell and not drink. :)
Taste: woody, dark fruit, long finish with some anise and licorice.
November 18, 2018 - Decanted about 2 hours in advance. The wine was drinking very well. Nice Cab Franc character with red fruits and medium body with hints of green pepper. Paired very well with the medium rare tenderloin.
July 14, 2018 - Drink em if you got em.
February 17, 2018 - Tampa Spring Break III; 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Tampa FL): This was still a total baby of a wine, with the tannins and acid stealing the show from the black fruit and cracked black pepper. I think probably a longer decant or more time in the cellar - makes me think the CT drinking window is way to short.
February 17, 2018 - Tampa Spring Break (the third); 2/16/2018-2/18/2018 (Various Tampa locations (Seasons 52, Capital Grille, Berns etc.)): I too like the percentages, and yet somehow this was not 100% my wine. 2009 is a hot vintage and a tough vintage and this was towards the end of the night of a lot of more intense wine but just before some of the favorites and so I don't have very detailed notes. Needs more time. Not there yet.
