February 18, 2018 - Pleasant. Seemed a bit hot and more one-dimensional than I was expecting. 14.5 alcohol and it shows. Thought there would be a bit more evolution over the years. Very much showing as a bigger RRV pinot. Cherry, cola, tempered strawberry, some baking spice, with medium acidity. Don't get the ond world comparisons, but tasty.

July 30, 2016 - Old world nose but still with a generous dose of fruit on the palate. Acid is medium plus which helps with the ripeness. Tastes like a 2003 Cote du Beaune.

December 25, 2015 - Carried to a family Christmas party, and PnP upon arrival.
Nose of bright red cherry syrup, stems, wet soil, and spice box.
Palate shows off a full bodied wine, where I expect the alcohol (14.5% abv) to poke through...but it manages to stay well-bridled. Spicy overtones play into the beautiful red cherry and blueberry fruits, with mild tobacco leaf and cola notes in the upper register.
The tannins perfectly support the wine's structure, bolstered by the well-balanced acidity, leading into the fruit-and-spice-laden finish.
Just a gorgeous example of a RRV PN. I believe this wine has reached a very nice level of improvement with bottle age, and should stay there, drinking nicely through 2022+. Quite delicious.

November 22, 2014 - 14.5% alcohol. Drinking beautifully. A very forward nose of black cherry, baking spice, and floral notes. In the mouth, rounded and juicy, with tremendous cherry fruit with compelling underlying baking spice and floral notes expanding as the acidity chimes in. Lovely stuff. A-
