November 4, 2021 - Similar tasting note to previous bottle, but perhaps a bit ultra-ripe.

August 18, 2021 - With Neeta and Manoj, second wine of the evening with appetizers. Slow oxed then decanted about an hour prior to drinking.

Dark ruby color, some bricking. Nose showing dark berry, spice, minerals. Palate of black cherry, cola, savory notes, crushed rock. Shows nice depth through the mid palate, spice and earth. Medium/full body, long finish.

Fabulous showing on this evening. Continued to improve in the glass over the time we drank it. This is fully mature at this point, really showing a lot of depth and energy. I think well stored bottles will drink at this level for a while but I dont think they will improve much.

March 20, 2021 - deepish red, just starting to brick, lush black cherries with a hint of cola, cloves, on the palate fully mature with generous and toasty fruit, game notes, good finish that is slightly drier than expected.

    ***, now and drink soon.

November 24, 2017 - We decided to open our last bottle after the bottle we had yesterday was so disappointing. Fortunately this bottle was in fine shape with no mustiness at all. The color was dark red with a clear edge, dark berry fruit aromas immediately flowed out of the bottle upon opening. The dense fruit was sweet and tasty but gave us the feeling that it needed a couple more years to develop more complexity. The fruit-laden finish was 1 minute +. Wish we had another bottle to try in a couple of years but it was fine with some very tasty Thanksgiving leftovers.

November 23, 2017 - Opened for Thanksgiving dinner. Very musty smell and taste. Drinkable but very disappointing. Mustiness slightly decreased after 2.5-3 hours. We have another bottle so we will give it another chance soon.

November 23, 2017 - Decanted for an hour, then back in the bottle for Thanksgiving dinner, med. ruby, raspberry, soft tannins, mod/long finish; delicious, drink but no rush. Kistler killed it in 09!
