December 1, 2018 - I loved this wine in its youth, but once this older bottle warmed up from cellar temp, the alcohol dominated. Cooling it back down allowed me to search out the racy cherry/cola/spice combination, but at anything approach normal temperature the vapor coming off the wine was fire hazard. Glad it was my last bottle, looking forward to some younger vintages.
EDIT: Day 2 (overnight in vacuvin'd bottle): back at temp and much nicer. Again, the temp is helping tame the alchohol, but now I'm getting more of the sour cherry and tea notes as well. Bumping up the score a tad...

November 5, 2017 - Stunning pisoni with its Asian spice. Wow!

January 20, 2017 - Massive fruit and structure for a Pinot. 15.6 percent alcohol! Could have been cab franc or amarone. Fruit is still interesting and perfumed on the nose and smooth, if syrupy palate. Better day two.

March 25, 2016 - PnP and wish I had decanted instead. The wine put on weight, and found its center, after about 30 min. Reminded me a lot of Pisoni (the master of Santa Lucia Highlands), but not quite as complex and balanced. Also showed a tad flabby (not enough acidity?), and a bit of heat on the finish (beginning to fade?). May all be my fault -- will decant next time.
