September 22, 2017 - Slow O'd for an hour. Very similar to the 2013 Hendry Zin we shared at the same meal, but the Dickinson was brighter and a bit spicier on first sips. Air improved both bottles. Decent QPR.

June 5, 2017 - Aerated by the glass. Nose of red cherry, blackberry, red licorice, underbrush and dried herbs. Red and black fruit, wood notes and fine tannins on the palate. Finishes with good length. Medium to full bodied. Served with penne alla vodka.

December 10, 2016 - I've been spoiled lately by my Martinelli Jackass and Jackass Hills from 04 and 05. This is excellent Zinfandel, but for me not a standout. Nice black raspberry flavors and a smooth drink; perhaps more air will lift it up a little.
Day Two: More air did indeed lift it; now a very pleasurable wine. Spicier and richer without losing its suave quality. 91 on Day One; 94 on Day Two.

February 7, 2016 - Aerated with a Vinturi and decanted for one hour. Cherry, licorice and spice on the nose and palate. Well balanced. Leads to a medium to long finish with a pretty streak of Zinfandel spice. Medium bodied. Paired with pizza and wings.
