June 6, 2021 - Slow ox for 45 minutes. This is in terrific shape. Cherry, black currant, tobacco and smoke. The wine has a wonderful cherry core, shows excellent integration and length. This drinks really well now but can continue to evolve for 10-20 years.

July 26, 2020 - Decanted for an hour and drank over several hours. Needs a decanting as it opens over time. Deep, lush and full bodied with dark fruit, cassis, tobacco and spice.

June 18, 2020 - Still developing with tannin not fully resolved but still very approachable with red fruit and jammy flavors. Philipe makes a wine that is built to last. It presented with a tinge of purple on the edge and smooth enjoyable cassis and red current finish. GSM baby...

May 13, 2020 - plummy, grapey, missing some depth, fruit profile is more red brambly fruits rather than coffee/chocolate notes in other napa cabs.

March 20, 2020 - Drank this as the Coronavirus was taking grip in the US. I hope we all get through this safely and appreciate life a bit more.
Still very young. Decanted for 30 minutes initially. Did any over dinner an beyond. Very tight, but began opening after an hour. Continued to develop and improve. Firm, but well integrated tannins. Dark red and black fruits with menthol and glycerin. Earth tones and tobacco. This will be a wonderful wine in a few more years.

December 31, 2019 - Decanted thirty minutes. Very tight and coiled up. This needed a longer decant or to sleep longer in the cellar. There is a lot of good underlying material and potential here but my guess is this will not be quite as good as the 2003 Seavey drank the same day.

June 27, 2019 - Just at the front of its window, with numerous years of good drinking ahead. Great nose, followed by dark fruits balanced with some savory background notes of mineral and black tea. Tannins are fine and provide length on the finish. Excellent.
