March 27, 2021 - Dark purple color--almost PS dark. Bright fruity nose--that surprises me, a bit--with some vanilla. Dark fruit--currant, blackberry-- with a suggestion of anise on the tip of the tongue. Still a lot of sturdy tannin. 👍 Slight hint of tart acid on the edges of the tongue. Just a terrrific wine
February 27, 2021 - This is a beautiful representation of a Howell Mountain Cab. The enticing color is a deep dark purple. Big sexy aromatics of dark fruit, cedar and herbs du Provence. The palate has rich, elegant and well integrated flavors of what the nose is telling you. The dry lush finish goes on forever. We enjoyed this wine with our roasted root vegetables buckwheat grain bowl.
Seems like we hit this bottle near its peak, but certainly can continue drinking great for a few more years.
February 7, 2021 - Decanted and enjoyed over 3 hours. Floral & berry aromas, although very subtle. Dark berries, tar, spice & expresso flavors - still drinking nicely. One bottle remaining, I will wait a few years to revisit.
February 6, 2021 - This may have been better when younger. I have some more bottle so will see. Still solid.
January 30, 2021 - Well balanced wine. Rich black fruit - cherries, plums, blackberries- followed by cloves and cinnamon with integrated smooth tannins. Dried figs, raisins, leather, tar and hints of coffee. Beautiful long finish that keeps evolving. Can continue to evolve in bottle.
January 16, 2021 - Cade killed it. So good. Like Frank the Tank said, "It's so good when it first hits your lips!"
January 14, 2021 - A truly great bottle
December 19, 2020 - Amazing. Still lots of life. Cade so well balanced. Not any flaws.
August 23, 2020 - Very good -- reminds me I should buy some more Cade from recent vintages. Mtn fruit with good structure. Full taste through the entire palate. Not over done ... yum
August 14, 2020 - Not exactly my style. but better than expected. hides the 15.2% Still young on fruit and oak. Oak still needs time to integrate. Nice dusty tannins on the finish. Disagree with previous note on drinking up. I purchased and have cellared this since release and its doing fine and can easily go another 10 years IMO
