December 30, 2010 - Popped and poured. Immediately shows some barnyard gaminess warmth interwoven with dark cherry fruits representing a rather complex nose including all spice, cinnamon and forest floor. The oak is just about integrated. A delicious wine that I would be happy to drink anytime, if only I had more.

August 16, 2010 - Wine full with extract, spice and minerality. However, the presence of a large amount of wood not completely integrated makes wine too heavy. The wood is just too prominent to my taste.

August 3, 2009 - Chambolle Musigny "Southside" 1er Cru Dinner (Custom House - Chicago IL): Served blind. Musty nose to start. Fruit was austere and lean on the nose. Good lean red fruit on palate, then a bit too acidic on the finish which could have used more fruit for a middle-aged wine such as this.

December 29, 2006 - Deep, dark ruby color. Took about 30 minutes to open, and boy did it. Aromatically this wine was a cornucopia that Burgundy can be, eventually becoming very complex and engaging with asian spice, cedar and dark cherries. Just a luscious palate with extraordinary depth. The fruit is still somewhat primary but quite concentrated. Still with plenty of tannins, but not too firm. This wine will certainly improve in the cellar. I'm glad I have another one. I hope I can hold off another 5 years.
