    September 23, 2020 - Served blind
Clear ruby with pink rim, not sign of age
Fresh bing cherries and a hint of strawberry
Light refreshing acidity and a bit of a rustic finish.
This is quite lovely and seeming at a perfect drinking window, but this particular bottle seemed in no danger of drying out anytime soon

April 5, 2015 - Previous notes apply. Consistency now is becoming a hallmark of this value Burgundy.

March 23, 2015 - At 28.00 per bottle this wine is at an exceptional price point. The color light and translucent with nice structured legs. Nose somewhat muted for the first few minutes almost medicinal opening to beautiful cherries. Palate, while not as complex it did have all the parts and well structured with medium but integrated tannins with smooth velvety mouth feel. Short finish but that was fine. Excellent alone or with food.

January 24, 2014 - Bright cherry and cranberry flavor with moderated acidity, light-medium body and soft finish. Not too complex, but still enjoyable to drink. Good food wine.

March 24, 2013 - This wine was re-tasted and a note was independently recorded. My impressions as of this date are essentially the same as for my 1/13/13 tasting. Drink now-12/17.

March 16, 2013 - Iron, cranberry, coffee beans, dried flowers, baked berry pastry. Super silky and sultry, sappy and concentrated, juicy and zesty. Cozy, warm, yet mature and resolved comfort wine, if a bit nondescript. ★

January 13, 2013 - Showing a medium ruby robe, this relatively inexpensive Burgundy does not disappoint. With 30 minutes of aeration in glass, the nose shows very nice aromas of Bing cherries, pickling spice and cocoa. Medium-bodied and fresh on the palate, with light-to-medium fine-grained tannins, well-integrated alcohol (listed as 13%) and flavors mirroring the nose. The middle palate is solid while the medium-length finish is a bit dry. Perhaps a year in the cellar will be beneficial here, but for the price, I would not hesitate to enjoy it now. It has the structure to drink nicely over the next five years. Drink now-12/17.

October 6, 2012 - Affordable Red Burgundy (The Wine Country, Signal Hill, CA): $31.99. This has opened up quite a bit since I last tried it. Very nice new world-styled Pinot but with old world sensibility. Enjoyed it very much.

March 25, 2012 - Nose of very fresh cherry and earth and a bit of spice. Cherries and red berries on the palate, fresh and fruity with good acid. Tannins are very active on the finish, where there is also spice component added to the finish. Very good.
