October 28, 2023 - 10 years since the last bottle. The wine is now close to perfection, with integrated tannins, a higher complexity with secondary aroma and still a long finish. Tobacco, red berries, cherries and cedar wood. A powerful wine that perfectly matched our Brazilian ribeyes.

June 29, 2022 - Mostly CDP dinner (The Capital Grille at Tysons corner, VA): Similar to the 07 La Combe des Fous. Expressive nose displaying very ripe black fruit, blackberry liqueur, black cherry, fruitcake, licorice, dark spices and earth. There is a hint of heat. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of black fruit, silky and fluid, medium acidity, earthy mineral, and a long very ripe black fruit driven finish with licorice at the end. I find it a bit monolithic.

September 21, 2021 - I'm not entirely convinced straight out of the bottle. Need to aerate. Concentrated violets on the nose and nice mint on the retronasal. But finish is lacking

December 30, 2020 - I highly recommend this wine. Needed 3-4+ hours of air to really start shining.

Had side by side with a 2016 Spanish Grenache, the Espectacle. In comparison to the Spanish wine, this was a dark garnet color.

The nose was floral, meaty, and spicy. And the first sip has a ton of "wow" factor. So densely concentrated -- nearly tar -- with rich, delicious jam. The 16% ABV was almost completely hidden away. The acidity was totally mellowed out. And the finish just went on and on with spices, chocolate, and earthy goodness.

    Can't wait to drink again.

December 26, 2020 - A bit mixed on this one. No doubt a beautiful CdP with immense flavour, depth and length. Herbs, spices, pot pourri and a really grungy earthiness that is delicious. My only quibble is that it feels a little hard, not quite as relaxed and smooth as I would have been hoping for. More time perhaps?
